Become a MRC Coxswain
Cox'ns not only direct and steer racing boats powered with as many as 8 rowers, but share an exciting ride when the crew clicks together under their guidance. MRC offers opportunities to train and compete with a fun group of oxygen-loving people, on the water and off during the racing season May-Oct, as well as tough, structured winter workouts. Dedicated coxswains receive a free club membership.
Free Learn to Row day and Open House: Saturday, June 7
Give rowing a try. Come to our free Learn to Row Day where you receive free rowing instruction for teens and adults including on-land instruction on Concept 2 rowing machines, a tour of the Bernard's Boathouse in James Madison Park, and, weather permitting, all participants will row on Lake Mendota in an 8-person rowing shell. June 7, 2008, 8:00 am-2:00 pm at our boathouse, 622 E Gorham on Lake Mendota at the east end of James Madison Park in Madison.
High School Rowing
Become part of the MRC Junior program, a competitive team composed of high school kids from the Madison area. Our boys and girls teams are among the top high school crews in the Midwest. Register for the Mendota Juniors/MSCR High School Rowing for Beginners Class.The class is open to all high school boys and girls. No rowing experience is required.
